Technology Packages

At the heart of IPT's technology transfer method is a process technology package, or Front End Engineering Package (FEEP), sometimes referred to as a Process Design Package (PDP).

This can be extended to include critical basic design, or a full basic design package by a specialist basic engineering contractor.

IPT's project office in the U.K. has the skills and resources necessary to deliver the FEEP and critical basic engineering if that is required, including early basic engineering requirements such as engineering specifications, technical requisitions enquiries for long delivery equipment, and conceptual 3D models.

A team appropriate for each project will consist of process, equipment and control engineers, with operations managers and other specialists used to ensure the design is safe and easy to operate and maintain.

IPT involves its clients during appropriate design reviews to ensure the agreed intent of the FEEP is met.

Customer support is available after plant commissioning through an extensive technical services program. Assistance during major plant overhauls, short term technical investigations, rotating equipment advice, metallurgical expertise and plant technical audits can all be provided through dedicated account managers. Existing clients requiring technical assistance may contact us to discuss the type of support and technical assistance package that would best suit them.

Technical Proposals

For a successful project, the technical definition must be comprehensive and detailed. IPT has developed systems that assist clients in defining the design basis for their project. This information is presented in the form of Technical Proposals. These proposals are used to aid discussions with clients and form the basis of the Technical Annexes to the License Agreement.

The primary elements of these Technical Annexes (prepared with input from IPT design and operations teams) include amongst other things process descriptions, flowsheets, raw materials specifications, equipment lists and a division of responsibilities list, which assists clients in detailed planning and implement of their project.
