Our History

IPT is the technology licensing arm of INVISTA, one of the world’s largest integrated producers of polymers and fibres, primarily for nylon, spandex and polyester applications.  INVISTA transforms daily life through its innovations in the nylon, spandex, polyester and specialty materials industries. You may find INVISTA's products in your clothing, carpets, cars and computers—just to name a few.  INVISTA has more than 50 locations across North America, South America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.  For additional information on INVISTA, visit www.INVISTA.com.

INVISTA is an independently-managed, wholly-owned subsidiary of Koch Industries, Inc. For additional information on Koch Industries, Inc., visit their web site at

INVISTA's Market-Based Management™ (MBM™) business philosophy is a value system and a framework for action developed by Charles Koch, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Koch Industries, Inc. and a member of the Board of Managing Directors of INVISTA.

The essence of the MBM philosophy is creating real, sustainable value for customers and society as a whole. It encourages innovations that create value by making people's lives better and contributing to prosperity in society. Rooted in guiding principles such as integrity, humility and respect, the MBM philosophy enables employees to constantly search for opportunities to improve and grow.

In 2004, subsidiaries of Koch Industries acquired INVISTA from E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company. INVISTA, formerly DuPont Textiles and Interiors, was combined with KoSa, a producer of commodity and specialty polyester fibres, polymers and intermediates. KoSa had been a Koch affiliate since 1998.  IPT’s heritage stretches back to the beginning of the polyester industry via our predecessor companies, ICI and DuPont and continues to this day.
